Wanting to perform a “give-back,” to park tour operators as well as Navajo Nation community members surrounding one of the West's most iconic photography locations, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Neil Eschenfelder conducted his Digital Photography 101 course at Monument Valley High School, January 26, 2019. Donating his time and teaching skills, Neil’s class raised $320 for Monument Valley High School student art programs.
Shaye Holiday, Navajo Nation resident, event co-organizer, and owner of Monument Valley Photo Safari said, “I think workshops & classes like this are a great opportunity for the Navajo Nation to learn a lot about photography from somebody that’s been in the field with over 40 years’ experience. It’s an invaluable class that we took today.”
Retiree, photography enthusiast & class attendee James T. Brown said, “After taking pictures and photographs for years and reading a lot of books, camera manuals, Popular Photography & Imaging, and Arizona Highways, Neil distills everything into a very cogent comprehensive simple presentation. It really gives someone the basics of digital photography.”
- Navajo Nation residents interested in digital photography, cameras, lenses, shooting techniques, and more were invited to attend.
- Many attendees work as guides and tour operators in and around Monument Valley Tribal Park, wanting to provide their customers and guests with the very best photography experience through outstanding “photo opps.”
- All digital photographers were welcome. Neil’s photographic principles apply whether students use an iPhone, point-and-shoot, or digital SLR camera.
- Neil offered his new & exclusive 4E Digital Photography Foundation Course.
